How to put windows in a stock trailer?

I have a 16ft ww stock/combo trailer that I am trying to figure out how to put in some kind of temporary or sliding plexi glass windows to help with the wind and cold air. If anyone has modified their stock trailer like this and has suggestions that would be awesome! We are getting ready for a trip from San Diego to Alaska and it is going to be chilly.

Pickled has a great idea with the ply wood. I used a similar idea on my old trailer to enclose the top of the back section when it was stored in the shed. Hubby just cut a bit of marine board to shape and literally drilled holes into the back square tubing and then screwed it on.

It worked extremely well to keep the birds out while it was not being used and was cheap. I then had an engineer press up a bit of square tube to shape and hubby then constructed a solid barn door on the back that we can also use for travelling.

My other thought is to get canvas or PVC window covers made. Here people with open sided trailers use this system a lot, it gives them greater flexibility for ventilation, they are cheap and easily to install.

You can use press studs, bungee elastics pulled over hooks or the old fashioned zig zag elastics to secure the canvas sides on.

If you have a canvas person near by it would certainly be worth looking into the cost and options available to you.

Good luck with your trip ;-)
